About Us
The Brazilian Cultural Centre is more than a place; it is a living expression of who we are as a people. The first of its kind in Oceania, it stands as a home for Brazilian culture in all its power, depth, colour, and rhythm. Here, art is not decoration; it is language. Dance is not performance; it is memory. And culture is not a product; it is our soul.
This project was born through a powerful partnership between Brazilian Style Imports and Nandara Nerys, two forces united by passion and purpose. Nandara, a cultural visionary and lifelong educator, brought the heart: the movement, the language, the history, and the programs that give voice to generations of Brazilian expression. Brazilian Style Imports brought the foundation: the flavours, the textures, and the commitment to honouring Brazilian identity in every detail—from the food we taste to the community we build.

Our programs are designed to serve across generations and communities. We offer dance classes for all ages and levels, from traditional roots to contemporary styles; children’s programs that blend movement, language, and imagination; capoeira and Brazilian jiu-jitsu rooted in heritage and resistance; cultural and Portuguese language education welcoming all who wish to learn; community initiatives for Brazilians, Latin Americans, and multicultural families; spaces for collaboration with Aboriginal and Indigenous communities built on respect and exchange; studios for media, podcasting, and digital creation giving voice to Brazilian stories; and a cultural home for festivals, events, artistic residencies, business partnerships, and creative production.
This Centre is a landmark, but more importantly, it is a beginning. A beginning of a movement, a gathering, a recognition. A place where we stop asking for space and start creating our own. A place where art, sport, language, and community come together not only to preserve our culture but to project it forward with pride.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
We are proud to host The Roots BJJ Team, one of Australia’s most respected Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu schools, right here at our centre. With classes running Monday to Friday for both kids and adults, BJJ is more than just a martial art. It’s a path to discipline, confidence, and community. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced fighter, our mat is open to all levels. Come train with qualified instructors in a supportive and energetic environment that honours the deep roots of this Brazilian tradition.
